Ancient Egypt, black?
Question by Talawah, The Misfit.: Ancient Egypt, black?
Please someone tell me what all this bullshit is about “Nubians invading Egypt”, Egypt is in Africa, you can’t invade yourself. Kemet is the original term for Egypt which I believe was later changed to Egypt by the Greek understanding of the word.
There are historic artifacts showing that black people came into power in Egypt ( Taharqa who was a Nubian King ) has been falsely reconstructed that his Nubian army invaded like beasts and killed all of the pure light-skinned Egyptians when the Egyptians themselves probably considered themselves black. Surely they would have changed Egyptian society if this were true? Invaders always bring their civillisation into the land they have conquered. When has this not been the case? Yet Egypt remained the same after and duringthe Nubian ruling, no extra languages, no different coloured people, no new beliefs.
Is this a cheap shot at the blacks who prospered their way into power in a successful reign of civillisation?
After all, they were located in Africa and were surrounded by many other civillisations that were prodominantly black which the bibles claims are the people of “ham”.
King Tut’s grandmother, Queen Tiye was BLACK. I’m sorry to all you racial debaters out there but there is no denying this womans race.

Please people don’t be fooled by the Eurocentric trash out there, Cleopatra may have been Greek looking but she was definetely no Elizabeth Taylor.
Also, some great people came from Africa who aren’t praised; like Imhotep who was the first architect in history, and the father of medicene. Not Hippocrates.
First King of Egypt – Menes
Queen Nefertiti
Akhenaten – The Father of Monotheism
Amenhotep
Ramesses
I’m not stating that Egypt was fully black, but open your eyes, it is in Africa. Some may say that the paintings and sculptures of the pharaohs and queens etc, are definetely not black. This can’t be right, black people have many shades to their skin, from the light skinned and caucasoid features of the people who inhabit New Guinea and the Dark tone of Uganda and Sudan(which borders Egypt), the colour tone varies quite dramatically, the Somalian complexion is that of reddish/ light brown.
If you look at the ancient Egyptian wall paintings, they all vary in colour from light brown to dark black.
Why can’t we reveal the truth in this current time, editing and re-writing black history has gone on for too long, what points are there left to prove? The thing is, most of my black compardres don’t even know about their history, they buy into the westernised bull. Gotta stop.

Aleesha, I didn’t deny that white people contributed to the world, I am however, denying the eurocentric bullshizz that is feeding westernised media and education. Black people have made a far greater contribution to civillisation than people are aware about, Christian and even Jewish scholars actually denied that black people made a contribution to history, and made up a conclusion that they were not mentioned in the bible (and where they were mentioned were the curse of ham), therefore they convinced themselves that slavery was acceptable. do you not think this is wrong?

Egypt was a mixed race society with equality between the races. The majority of the people were of semitic or semitic/caucasoid mix stock and there were a significant numbers of blacks.

Please could you then explain why there are differences in the depictions of people on the Egyptian monuments (have you ever been to Egypt and seen these things yourself??)
And also–scientifically please–could you tell me how it is possible that Ramses II can have red hair and pointed caucasian features, and MOST importantly, his dna is type H which is a European haplogroup?
Yes, the ancient Egyptians were black. There is still an indigenous black Egyptian population there but the descendants of Arab settlers largely outnumber them. Many people try to downplay or falsify the achievements of blacks. It’s kind of foolish to believe that ancient Egyptians were white so many people try to pass ancient Egyptians as Arabs. There is so much proof that the Egyptians were descended from the people of the Punt (modern-day Puntland, located in Somalia). Just look at the paintings, literature, and research of historians. People can try to deny it all they want but it’s the truth. Don’t let yourself be swayed by people who try to tell you otherwise.
I say paintings and sculptures don’t lie as to Ancient Egyptians being Black; the preserved bust of Queen Nefertiti’s one example.
That, and other sculptures, i.e. King Tut’s sarcophogus(sp) cover, is where I rest my case.
No.
Egyptians were [and still are] early Caucasians people (as well as their cousins Berbers : native people of N.Africa) who lived in actual Egypt..

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Africa
The climate of North Africa is completely different from the rest of Africa ..example: the people’s places are moutains, big green forests and streams .
North Africa was predominally peopled by Egyptians and Berbers semi-nomadic people.

Nubians were a another people who actually lived in Southern Egypt -North Sudan..They were influenced by the Egyptians but Had never been Egyptians …Egyptians made the difference between them and the Nubians : as well in their texts and in their paintings!
Blacks people originated from Sub-Sahara Africa …there werent any Black people who passed the Sahara desert..
Edit: Egypt is in africa but is part of the middle east and they are arabs
I agree with Deeyanna white features started in Africa. I study a lot.
But my dna says I have Egyptian, I also have some other parts of Africa and Iran. All very close together and my Iran friend said that Iran was once part of Africa back then also. In my opinion I believe Somalians have Iran dna and African. But Egypt is black, Africans come in all shades too.
Also old Egypt art has dark skinned rulers and brown skinned people. Few where white skin. Again Africans come in many shades and I met three pale ones so far!
Kemet is an african name so yes, egypt was black but hwite still contributed to the world.
ancient egypt was a black civilization consisting a majority populace of blacks of course. reason there is a debate is because the true african origin of egypt (Kemet) has been diminished and covered when it’s well documented.
Everything works in a spectrum, the further away from the equator the lighter you are, the closer the darker.
So from that, my guess would be that the original people would be a light brown or just brown. I also suppose we can look at other people who lived at the same latitude and guess from that.
Overall though I could care less if they were considered black or not, they accomplished a lot
The ancient egpytians said that their acestral homeland is in puntland… which is in modern day Somalia.
The pictures of them have long necks, high foreheads, brown-tan complextions, and long and slender bodies. Which describes ethiopians and somalis…
I think that just says it all.
and to the idiots who say “arabs” are egpytians because they live there now is like saying native americans were white because of the people living here today.
edit:
Marvin-
Jesus christ lol, somalis consider themselves BLACK.
we don’t think we have white features, we believe the whites got their features from US.
Talawah, I’d advise you do not ask this question. I’ve come to the conclusion that you can never persuade a bigot who thinks that Africa has contributed nothing to the world.
I am glad to say however, that I know at least one individual out there knows his history. For a brief moment I thought I was turning into a nutjob.
Edit: And last thing I’d like to say! This question is slowly expiring. The new thing in debate is whether Somalians and Egyptians are “Caucasians” lol. They won’t give up!
