It brings out strong reactions in people. Im finding 2 reactions the most popular. 1. What? Really? Cmon. You dont really want to sing that. 2. Oh my God. This is the chorus that my church has needed to sing for years. I cant sing it enough. BREAK US LORD!!! Through my conversations with the reactionaries I am finding some things to be consistent. Those who are comfortable in their faith really arent hip with too much disturbance and disruption in their mojo. I get it. If things are good. If things are stable, why ask God to save us from these comforts? And those who are desiring somethingmorefrom whatever it is they are searching for, are singing this chorus until their voices give out. Neither is wrong. Neither is right. But I do know this. I grow in my faith the most when I am disturbed and disrupted. I get a spiritual fat @** when Im not. This chorus is taken from a book of Puritan prayers. Those guys wanted something extra. Something I dont quite understand. Or didnt. Until I met Danny. Danny is a homeless guy in Atlanta who happened to walk up on me while I was shooting the EPK for my new record. @esca8652 Thats cool I encourage you to read it, as you say it is the most popular book on earth, even some people that aren’t christian read it for the wisdom which you will find in proverbs and psalms, also generals in the army took information from the old testament where there were many wars 2 kings and other books..Where ever you stand on the book is your choice but to make a review on anything without fully reading/understanding or using it is not wise. I hope you find something appealing

That’s so silly. Believing in punishment of their children as well as the perpetrator of a crime.
That is probably the best disection of the Genesis story that I have ever seen.
The god of the bible is injust whether he operates by individual sin or original sin. If he operates by original, then you are guilty for the sin of your ancestors. If he operates by individual, he must know that you were born into a sinful world and could never avoid being a product of your environment. In christian theology, you are guilty simply by the virtue that you exist.
@DJSTYLEZ7 I’ve read the bible cover to cover when I was a christian and can tell you that there is a difference between reading and comprehension. I read alot of it without comprehending any of it. Now I can say that I comprehend it alot more realizing that no god inspired it. It has nuggets of wisdom, but so does every religion, and none of it vindicates its message.
Even the nuggets of wisdom can be proven wrong, 1 Tim 6:10 could be considered wisdom, but is historically wrong.

So that’s why Christians want to disprove evolution, Adam and Eve is the only “proof” of why humans need to follow the bible.
1. You were raised to think the bible is literal when it has changed over thousands of years. The original story could have been quite different. Unfortunately the bible is all messed up we can’t tell what is original
2. I you could not distinguish between good and evil then you would be able to make more logical divisions without being clouded by what gets hurt or what gets helped. Similar to if you had no emotions you would be able to make more logical conclusions in a since.notthiestorathiest
Isn’t it interesting how Xians will oppose such an excellent analysis of the Adam & Eve story? If this was any other fictional account, & instead of god it was Saddam Hussein, Xians would condemn his actions for the same reason expressed here.
I can relate so much to the author’s assessment of this story bcuz when I was in the 4th grade of my Cath. Elem. school, these same basic concerns ran thru my mind. I failed that 4th grade. That’s how much this, ‘and’ the Hell concept had bothered me.
God told Adam and Eve not to eat from the tree, and if they did God told them that they will Die. God told them not to then told them the consequences. what else do they need. IF GOD TELLS YOU NOT TO DO SOMETHING. DON”T DO IT.

supposing that god created man as his own image, he created adam and eve the first two humans ,if this two were like god and then they did that with the apple that means that god would do that too in their possition or he could have done it… so he would understand their position and not vanish them from paradise, i dont get why god would do that… and the things told here in this video are really interesting cause its true god didnt teach anything about good and evil to them…

In the first 2 minutes, realize that God didn’t specify what type of death that they would experience. They experienced spiritual death and separation from God, not the physical. And since their creator specifically told them not to, they shouldn’t have done so. I’m sorry, I’m just very close-minded when it comes to going against religion, but good work on explaining it.
@deguesstheboxingfan So remind me why, if he really loved Adam and Eve, he even put them in a situation where they were likely to hurt themselves. Oh, and since he knows everything, surely he knew they would eat the fruit. So why did he even MAKE the fruit?
He knew in advance he was damning literally billions of people to eternal torment and did it anyway. That’s not just unjust, that’s downright evil.
@Maphysto He did say that they could eat from any tree except from the particular tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Of course, he put right beside it the tree of life. He loved us enough to give us free will to make our own decisions. And they were just too disobedient and abused that free will. Although he knew what they were gonna choose, he didn’t set us up for that. He gave them the choice to.
But you believe what you wanna believe and I’ll do the same. Case closed.
@deguesstheboxingfan Suppose a man tells you he’s going to do something bad, say, blow himself up in a crowded area. You know he’s going to do this, but you don’t take any steps to stop him. Doesn’t that make you an accessory? If God KNEW, 100%, that we would disobey him, and knew 100% that he would be damning us to hell for it, then making us anyway is no different.
Also, attempting to argue that God is omnipotent/omniscient AND that we have free will is absurd.
